The Bentley Upper School athletics program seeks to assist student-athletes in growing physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. This is accomplished through the challenge of athletic discipline, team participation, and interscholastic competition. Our mission is both educational and recreational, designed to enrich and complement the Bentley academic experience. Whether it is in practice or games, athletics provides all students with an active opportunity for personal achievement and value development. In many of our sports, Bentley fields junior varsity teams as well as varsity teams, thereby providing a training ground for young players and more opportunities to play.
Bentley School believes physical fitness should be a life-long practice and in addition to interscholastic sports we offer a full range of Life Fitness classes. Classes include yoga, fencing, dance, rugby, weight training, sport-specific pre-season conditioning, and cardiovascular conditioning.
Bentley School is a member of the North Coast Section (NCS) and competes in the Bay Area Conference (BAC), Bay Counties League (BCL) East. The schools that are members of our league include Bentley School (Lafayette), Athenian School (Danville), College Preparatory School (Oakland), Head-Royce School (Oakland), Holy Names HS (Oakland), Redwood Christian School (San Lorenzo), and Valley Christian School (Dublin).
